Privacy Policy

Just A Crab is a standalone public information site for Washington recreational crabbing tides. You do not need an account to use it. The only exception is the Crabdex, a private catch log for invited friends.

For this site specifically:

Preferences: Your chosen tide chart location may be stored in your browser's local storage so the page can remember it. Clearing site data removes it.
Crabdex (invited users only): If you are invited, your email address, display name, the catches you log (species, size, time, spot, tide, notes), and any photos you add are stored with our database provider, Supabase. Photos are re-saved on your device before upload, which removes location and camera data. Private catches are visible only to you; group catches are visible to members of your group. Signing in keeps a session token in your browser's local storage until you sign out. Ask the friend who invited you or the site owner to delete your account and data.
Map tiles: The map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap's public tile servers. Those requests may include your IP address and standard browser request headers, subject to OpenStreetMap's practices.
Server logs: Like most websites, hosting infrastructure may record routine access logs (for example IP address, URL, user agent, and time) for security and reliability.
No sale of data: Personal information from this site is not sold.
